Oh the places I’ve worked
Structures and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory @ The University of Houston - Research Assistant / Dec 2022 - Jan 2025
I spent two years with Dr. Vedhus Hoskere co-developing TwInfra, an AI-powered system that transformed how 3D infrastructure assessments are done. We reduced corrosion detection time from several days to under 30 minutes using deep learning, photogrammetry, and real-time defect classification. I contributed to refining the core models, improving interoperability between computer vision tools, and integrating human annotations with automated detection. On the engineering side, I worked across a full-stack pipeline using Docker, Python (Django, Flask, Celery), React, and Linux to streamline deployment and boost performance. The experience pushed my technical skills while grounding them in real-world impact. Weekly meetings and presentations for the past two years, in addition to onboarding new lab employees, gave me the peoples skills that come with technical jobs such as software engineering.
Presenting TwInfra in both Potomac, Virginia and Honolulu, Hawaii was a surreal culmination of two years of hard work at the SAIL lab. In both, I shared our research with industry professionals and academics, sparking conversations about the future of AI in infrastructure. Both experiences reminded me that thoughtful engineering doesn't just stay in the lab—it moves, it resonates, and it makes an impact.
Houston Children’s Charity - Intern / April 2025
Supported daily office operations and assisted with planning and coordinating charity events and donation programs. Helped manage logistics, organize resources, and prepare materials for various community outreach initiatives. While the tasks were modest, the internship gave me a closer look at how nonprofit work touches lives through consistency, care, and behind-the-scenes effort.
KAW Tech - CEO / May 2024 - December 2024
I co-founded Kaw Tech, a software contracting startup launched with two close friends, where I took on the role of CEO. We set out to build custom software solutions for small businesses, handling everything from branding and outreach to development and operations. Though we didn’t land any clients, the experience was far from a loss—it taught me how to lead through uncertainty, communicate a vision, and navigate the challenges of building something from the ground up. Kaw Tech was a short-lived venture, but one that left a lasting mark on how I approach collaboration, resilience, and entrepreneurship.
